If you are like me then toys or kids activities that teach your kids while they are having fun are always at the top of your list. That is what drew me to the AntWorks line and while the original Antworks was cool, once I saw the Illuminated version I was sold.
Sure I am not the biggest fan of any kind of bug these ants are totally contained and will not be escaping to crawl anywhere but where they are supposed to go. You never have to open the container not even to feed the ants, the blue gel that they live in has all of the nutrients that they need to grow and stay healthy for the entire length of their lives. These ants will live the same amount of time as an ant outdoors, maybe even longer because they have no predators in the Antworks container.
The thing that makes AntWorks Illuminated such a cool gift for any kid is the fact that it is unlike anything else they own now and probably anything their friends own either. They will be able to watch how ant colonies work in every aspect. It is amazing and super cool.
The way it works is simple. Your child will receive a self-contained environment partially filled with blue gel. There are bright blue LED lights on the bottom of the container that will light up the entire thing making it glow.
This makes the tunnels that the ants dig throughout the AntWorks Illuminated gel show up bright and clear. Your kids will be able to see everything the ants do. This is basically ants in space, it was actually NASA that invented this as an experiment to see how ants would react in outer space. Fascinating!
The best part is that this kids toy can do double duty as an accent light. The AntWorks Illuminated LEDs are bright enough to make the perfect accent light in their room either on a shelf or on their nightstand.
